An intern information session tailored to incoming first-year students and prospective RCEO members.
We will be giving an introduction to the RC student group system as well as insights to discovering new opportunities in business.
Through a keynote speaker from a local start-up company and a mini-competition, students will be able to explore different aspects of entrepreneurship and gain insight into the local entrepreneurial community.

Startup Case Competition
Test your presentation and critical thinking skills with the Startup Case Competition! Students will be given the opportunity to come up with a solution to a real life issue that SocietySocks is currently facing. Unlike common case competitions, students will be challenged with the task of creating a feasible solution with the complete understanding of the business innovation process. The most realistic solution will be implemented in SocietySock’s operations.

Our new initiative StartupConnect provides a year-long opportunity for students to gain meaningful work and volunteer experience with local start-ups and make an impact on the local business environment. By being paired with local start-ups, students will engage in different projects within the company; developing critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Compete against fellow students to present novel, viable business ideas to potential investors and receive coaching and funding for the launch of your potential businesses!
Pitch Competition will host a series of interactive workshops led by Rotman professors and alumni, covering a wide range of topics regarding entrepreneurship. Through these workshops, learn about valuable business considerations and receive guidance on developing a feasible, concrete and strategic implementation for business ideas.

JumpStart Networking Night
Join JumpStart’s event to network and make meaningful connections with entrepreneurs. With a low student-entrepreneur ratio and an intimate setting, new insights and sincere interactions can be achieved whilst further building a network of contacts. Last year, JumpStart connected more than 40 enthusiastic students with successful local entrepreneurs, with numerous students even being offered jobs and internships.

A casual setting where a designated speaker will visit campus to share stories about their experiences and help mentor students entrepreneurs. Previous visitors include Daniel Rodic from Exact Media, Mike Silagadza from Top Hat, and Jay Klein from The PUR Company.
